We are continuing to count down to the kickoff of the NFL's regular season and remembering some of the Buffalo Bills along the way.

Today we highlight a guy who wore the #9 and was one of the most productive kickers in Buffalo Bills history.

Rian Lindell started his NFL career by getting signed by the Dallas Cowboys.  Unfortunately, he didn't make the team there and was quickly picked up by the Seattle Seahawks in 2000.  He spent three years there then came to the Bills as a restricted free agent in 2003 and stayed with the team through 2013.

His stats in his 10 years with the Bills are pretty incredible.

Field Goals

In 152 games as a Buffalo Bill, he attempted 270 field goals and connected on 225 of them (including multiple game-winners).  It gave him a field goal percentage of 83.3%.  The only kicker who was more accurate for the Bills was Dan Carpenter who played from 2013-2016.

He's second on the all-time scorer's list, only behind Steve Christie.

Extra Points

Where Lindell really shined was on extra points.  He attempted 306 of them and only missed one extra point in his entire time with the Bills.  Until he missed an extra point in 2010 against the Bears, he had one of the longest streaks going for extra points at 321 (for his entire career).

So, what is Lindell doing now?

If you've ever wondered what happened to Rian Lindell after he left Buffalo, first he went on to play for one more year for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  He did ok, but wasn't resigned again after the 2013 season.  Now, he is a physical education teacher and a football coach at East Lake High School in Sammamish, Washington.
