The Buffalo Bills' injury report has felt a lot like a carousel this year. Just about the time we see some improvement from some players, and they get off the carousel, another position group gets in line to get on. It's the worst kind of ride to be on in the NFL and this week, it's the defensive ends' turn to ride.

There are no more "off" weeks available for the Bills

You hear Josh say it every week. The only game that is important is the one they're currently on. You can't be thinking about what you're going to do in the playoffs because at this point, you're still trying to make it to the playoffs. While there was a little less pressure early on if a team dropped a game, every team is quickly running out of time to do that. This is the time of year when the good teams separate from the rest. Every week becomes a "must-win" game.

The Bills had some good news this week offensively

Last week, it was one of the biggest storylines heading into the game against the Steelers. How would the Bills hold up offensively without their two starting tackles in the game? Both Spencer Brown and Dion Dawkins were out, leaving Ryan VanDemark and Alec Anderson to fend off TJ Watt and the Pittsburgh Steelers defense.

They seemed to do just fine. The Bills ended up setting a rushing record at the Pittsburgh Acrisure Stadium.

This week, both Brown and Dawkins seem to be trending up. Both practiced this week, but they were both limited. It appears as though Dawkins has cleared concussion protocol and should be good to go. Brown is still a game-time decision at this point.

Two players ruled "out" and one ruled "doubtful"

So while the tackles appear to be getting off the carousel, the defensive ends are getting on. There was a laundry list of players this week who did not practice. It included:

  • Joey Bosa
  • AJ Epenesa
  • Terrel Bernard
  • Joshua Palmer

Unfortunately, the Bills will be without two of them against Joe Burrow and the Bengals. Coach Sean McDermott ruled Joey Bosa and Terrel Bernard as "OUT" for this week's game. This will be the first time Joey Bosa will not be available to the Bills this season due to injury, something that many were concerned about when he signed here. Joshua Palmer was listed as "doubtful."

As far as AJ Epenesa goes, McDermott says he "should be fine."

All eyes are still on Dalton Kincaid, who is fighting to return from a hamstring injury and now a knee injury, also.

The Bills can use all the help they can get as they take on the Bengals. They are only 4-8 on the season, but don't let that fool you. They just brought back Joe Burrow last weekend from a toe injury that has kept him on the sidelines for most of the year, and found a way to knock off the pesky Baltimore Ravens.
