Why Are There Picture Frames All Over Buffalo, NY?
You may have noticed some peculiar picture frames positioned all over Buffalo recently. If you're wondering, they're here for a good cause.
They've been positioned at City Hall, at the central terminal, even at the Buffalo Naval Park. They're always pointed at specific locations to highlight a beautiful view of Buffalo. But what are they for?
The frames are part of "The Framework Project" (season 2)
The Framework Project is a public art initiative that has been created to not only help people capture some of the areas iconic views, but also to spotlight the work of some important organizations that "uplift Buffalo's diverse communities."
They're simple repurposed antique frames that have been placed around the city for you to use and enjoy. Along with the frames are QR codes that will help people learn about the project and the featured organization that is associated with that frame.
What do I need to do if I see a frame?
You don't have to do anything.
But if you'd like to, you can use the frame however you'd like. You can just take a picture of what is within the frame, or get creative and put yourself in the photo with it.
They do ask that you help to spread the word by tagging them on Instagram @frameworkproject with the photo that you take, or simply use #frameworkproject
Then, you can scan the QR code to see what organization is tied to it. If you feel moved by the organization and you'd like to make a donation to support the community, you could donate to the cause.
Then, just find other frames and repeat.
