There is one area of New York State that has the highest gas prices in New York and some are saying that they are getting "screwed"! The latest reports show that parts of the Adirondack region are paying way more than most other places when it comes to gas prices and it might be getting worse this week.

There is nothing like seeing the leaves start to change in the Adirondack Mountains. Typically, it is the first area of the state to see fall begin and this year is no exception. If you need a quick getaway, or a break from the back-to-school grind, a trip to the North Country of New York State is ideal! But be ready to have a little sticker shock at the pump.

The crispy leaves might be falling, but the gas prices are rising and it is not pretty.

We spent a week with our kids on our annual road trip that took us through Lake Placid to Tupper Lake and back down to Western New York. It always feels like home and the people of the Adirondack Region are so nice and welcoming. However, as I was fueling up, and sharing a quick conversation with another guy at the pump, he mentioned the gas prices and said that they are "always getting screwed" in that area with high gas prices.

Turns out, he may have a point. I am sure that some economist can explain why, but I did notice the outrageous prices! In the Adirondack area, the current gas prices, on average, are sitting at $3.40-$3.51 per gallon! That is considerably higher than some areas of Western New York that are below $3.00 per gallon!

There are some reports that say prices will continue to rise over the next fe days.
