It looks as though Buffalo might not actually lose both of its two big-name free agents this off-season.  Poyer is going to sign back with the Bills.

The Bills were dealing with two huge defensive free agents

Heading into the off season, it looked as though the Bills were about to lose two of its huge players on their defense for the 2023 season.  Both Jordan Poyer and Tremaine Edmunds were unrestricted free agents and it didn't quite seem like they were going to be able to keep both of them.

The Bills lost Tremaine Edmunds

Earlier this week, the Bills middle linebacker Tremaine Edmunds found what was a better deal for him in Chicago.  He was able to sign a huge deal with the Bears.  It was a four-year, $72 million contract, which included $50 million guaranteed making him the 4th highest paid linebacker in NFL history.

Who could blame him?

Jordan Poyer was tempted by other teams

Poyer was in the same boat as Edmunds in the sense that he was an all-pro who would be welcomed on other teams.  The only question was whether or not he would be able to get the money that he was looking for.  He made a comment that he was unhappy with the taxes in New York State and that it would be nice to go to a state where they wouldn't take half his paycheck.

The allure of a team in a warm state seemed to be attractive to him too.  Considering he has family in Florida, a lot of people assumed that Miami would be a good fit.

The Bills are going to be able to hold on to Jordan Poyer

NFL Insiders are reporting today that Poyer is signing with the Bills.  They have agreed to a 2 year contract.

But it was this tweet that really made it feel real.

Poyer simply texted Micah Hyde who has shared the field with him since he arrived in Buffalo.  They have been one of the most effective safety duos in the NFL for years and it looks as though they're coming back to give it another try this year.
