The summer travel season is in full swing, and those who are looking to hop on a bus, plane, or train to find some fun in the sun are often met with long lines and tons of people with all sorts of baggage. If you've spent any time traveling, you know that baggage can be literal or metaphorical, which can make traveling difficult sometimes.

Especially now with the requirement that everyone has a REAL ID, getting through security at airports can be a little challenging. This is on top of all the other things you have to remember when going through security, including taking your computing devices out of your bag, not packing liquids in your carry-on, and leaving the firearms at home.

However, soon there will be one thing that has been announced for years that you won't need to worry about doing at the airport security line.

According to CNN and CBS News, the TSA is dropping the requirement that people remove their shoes.

People have had to go barefoot through security since 2001 when Richard Reid, better known as the Shoe Bomber, tried to blow up a plane with explosives that were in his shoes.

There has been no official word on when these changes will take effect, but when they do, it should make things a little easier at the airport.
