Big Boy 4014 is coming to Western New York

Rail enthusiasts are getting excited to bring the world's largest operating steam locomotive to Western New York this week. As part of its tour to celebrate America's 250th birthday, it will be traveling all over the country this summer. Check here to see the full schedule of dates.

It will be in Western New York this week as it pulls into Buffalo on Wednesday. It will be on display from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm. There will be no public access outside of those hours.

They're encouraging everyone to use shuttles from the Walden Galleria

While admission will be free, and no tickets will be required, access will be limited. There will be no parking or pedestrian access at the display site. They're encouraging people to park at the Walden Galleria (North side near Primark) and use the free shuttles that will be provided there.

The local steam engine community is holding another rally in Genesee County this fall

As part of the United States' 250th anniversary, Union Pacific is joining in the festivities with the legendary Big Boy Locomotive Number 4014 embarking on a coast-to-coast tour that will take the historic train across the nation, with stops in Salt Lake City, Omaha, Nebraska, St. Louis, Kansas City, Chicago, Buffalo, Philadelphia, and more.
