Young Black women in Buffalo are invited to take part in the "Unleash Your Greatness" Young Women's Leadership Conference. It will be taking place from Sunday, June 25 through Wednesday, June 28, 2023. Young ladies will stay overnight. There are still spaces available for teens ages 15 to 18. The event is presented by the Independent Health Foundation, National Grid, and Generations. The organizer, Duncan Kirkwood, has spent many years working with the youth and activating the community. The 3-day conference will take place at Beaver Hollow Conference Center, located at 1083 Pit Road, Java Center, NY 14082.

This 3 day conference is a life changing experience for young people. They will be pushed, tested, poured into, and cared for as they navigate their journey into unleashing their greatness.

During the conference, the attendees will learn a variety of skills. There will be a focus on:

- Creating a vision board
- Personal story training
- Self Discipline
- Mastering study habits
- Leadership Training
- Building physical health
- Building mental health
- Goal setting
- Building sisterhood

Most of the registration fee for the whole weekend is free thanks to the sponsors. The Independent Health Foundation is helping to cover the other costs, including room and board for the attendees.

The cost is $50 per young lady (which will go back to the program for supplies, books, and T-shirts)

The Young Queens Empowerment Conference will take place in April. The free event is being organized by Cambria Daniels, Project Director of MHAT for BestSelf Behavioral Health, Inc., along with Buffalo Community Schools.

For: Young women aged 10-20 (*Parent/ Guardians. Mentors are welcome)
When: Saturday 4/22/23: 9:30 am to 2:30 pm
Where: East Community High School

Enjoy a day of free workshops to encourage, inspire, and empower the self-esteem, emotional and mental health of young women aged 10-20.

Registration for the Young Queens Empowerment Conference is free. You can reserve tickets online via Eventbrite.

The event will take place at East Community High School, which is located at 820 Northampton Street Buffalo, NY 14211.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Mentors, parents, and guardians are welcome to attend, as well.
