What Is Listeria?
Listeria monocytogenes is, "An organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can lead to serious pregnancy complications among pregnant women."

New Age International Inc of Brooklyn has issued a recall of its Signature Enoki Mushroom, Product of K Food (Korea Food Signature) due to the possibility of being contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The 200g (7.05 OZ) packages are affected by the recall, per the Food and Drug Administration. The mushrooms were distributed to retail stores and distributors in the New York City area. The clear plastic packages are marked with code GGN: 4063061794758 on the back label.

Four people have died and 19 others have been hospitalized due to a ready-to-eat pasta recall at Trader Joe's and Walmart stores. The pasta recall is for ready-to-eat meals containing pre-cooked pasta that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Listeria Concerns Prompt Recall Of Tuna In New York

Western United Fish Company, doing business as Annasea Foods Group of Kent, Washington, has issued a recall for its Kirkland Signature brand Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke, according to the Food and Drug Administration. The recall is due to possible Listeria contamination. The green onions used in the product are potentially contaminated with Listeria. The affected Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke product has the Kirkland Signature brand label with a "Sell By Date of 9/22/2025". The Tuna was sold at the deli section of Costco stores on September 18, in New York, as well as, Alabama, Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.
