New York State Police were pretty busy in Western New York this past week. There were multiple people arrested for various crimes.

Lockport Man Arrested For Home Invasion

The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation out of SP Lockport arrested a 29-year-old man on March 4, 2025. Jaquan J. Wright of Lockport was arrested on charges of Burglary 2nd degree, Menacing 2nd degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree.

The incident happened on January 3, 2025, at a home on Dysinger Road. Wright allegedly forced himself into the residence and threatened multiple victims with a handgun. With the help of United States Marshals, Wright was found and arrested on Chapel Street in the City of Lockport. He had a 9mm handgun with no serial number and a loaded high-capacity magazine in his possession.

Two Underage Teens Arrested For Guns

NYSP Troopers out of SP Lockport arrested two juvenile teenagers on charges of Illegal Discharge of a Firearm, Assault 2nd degree (3 counts), Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree, and Obstruction Governmental Administration 2nd degree. On March 7, 2025, around 9:31 pm. Troopers responded to a shots fired call on Lockwood Drive in the Town of Lockport. A 16-year-old fired a 16-gauge shotgun from a home, discharging multiple rounds. Three Troopers suffered minor injuries after the 15-year-old resisted arrest.

Two Arrested For Larceny

NYSP Troopers out of SP Lockport arrested two people for larceny on March 6, 2025. Kenneth Edmister of Gasport, 38, and 44-year-old Valerie S. Buscaglia of Lockport were arrested after an incident at Tops on South Transit Road in Lockport. Edmister was charged with Criminal Contempt 1st degree, Petit Larceny, Obstruction of Governmental Administration, Resisting Arrest, and Criminal Mischief, and Buscagli was arrested and charged with Resisting Arrest and Obstruction of Governmental Administration. Troopers responded to the Tops to help the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office with an alleged shoplifter. While NYSP was onsite, another alleged larceny was taking place. Troopers chased Edmister on foot when he entered a U-Haul truck. He put the vehicle in reverse and drove across the parking lot. Edmister crashed the vehicle into a fence. After a struggle, the Troopers arrested Edmister and Buscaglia.
