We will get a little taste of the "Dog Days Of Summer" this week in Western New York with a chance to hit 90 degrees or more for the first time this year.

90 Degrees Possible This Week In Western New York

Some VERY warm weather is heading our way in Western New York. Just one week after we had perfect weather of 75 and sunny, we are going to see some more sunshine, but things will be a lot warmer than last week.

Looking ahead to the forecast for this week, according to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, we could hit 90 degrees or warmer for the first time this week.

Monday - Sunny Skies with a high near 87
Tuesday - Sunny Skies with a high near 91
Wednesday - Rain For Much of the day. High near 84
Thursday - Rain and Thunderstorms. High near 86
Friday -  Rain continues with more thunderstorms possible. High near 87
Saturday - Mostly sunny and cooler. High near 78
Sunday - Mix of sun and clouds. High near 83

How Often Do We Hit 90+ Degrees In Western New York?

Getting to 90 or above is a rare feat here in Western New York. On average, we will have 3 or 4 days where the high temperature will hit 90 or above.

The year that had the most 90+ days in Western New York was back in 1955. That year holds the record for the most 90+ degree days in Western New York history, with  20 days.
