First Snow Of Winter 2025-26 Headed To Western New York
A massive Polar Vortex is going to bring some very cold air into Western New York, and match that up with warm lake water, and the lake effect snow machine is set to fire up this weekend. Snow will start late on Sunday and will continue through Tuesday morning.
Most of the heavier snow will come in the Southtowns and Southern Tier, but all of Western New York will get some snow to start the week.
The good news is that it won't last long. The weather is expected to get warmer on Wednesday and into late next week. Temperatures are expected to get back into the mid-40s after the Polar Vortex retreats back up North for a bit. We are looking at possible rain on Wednesday and then mostly cloudy skies for the rest of the week.
