Our St. Patrick's Day weekend will be a soggy one across New York State.

We have a storm front that is set to move across the state and it will bring plenty of rain with it.

The good news is that the majority of the heavy downpours will take place on Sunday so the whole weekend won't be a complete washout.

Of course with all that rain along with the snow melt, the risk of flooding will be elevated across the state. A flood watch has already been issued for Oswego, Jefferson, and Lewis counties starting on Sunday and lasting until Monday night.

Be mindful of river and creek beds that tend to flood. Also make sure you are careful on the roads. You should never attempt to drive across a flooded road.

There are several dangers that come with trying to cross a flooded road. They include hydroplaning, getting swept away by rushing water, and you could do water damage to your electronics and engine if water gets into your vehicle.
