Here are your trending stories for Wednesday in Western New York.

1 –Early morning rain showers will move out of the area and today will turn out to be a perfect fall day. We are looking at a mix of sun and clouds this afternoon with a high near 65. Temps are expected to be more near the average for this time of year with highs in the 60s heading into the weekend.

2 –The Buffalo Bills announced that pass rusher Von Miller has been suspended four games by the NFL for violating the league's personal conduct policy. He will be out until the Bills week 8 game against Seattle. As for this Sunday, the Bills could be without Safety Taylor Rapp who is in concussion protocol. Bills head coach Sean McDermott was asked about bringing back a familiar face, safety Micha Hyde, and said it could happen. The Bills are on the road this Sunday to take on Stefon Diggs and the Houston Texans. Kick off is set for 1 pm and you can watch the game locally on WIVB Channel 4.

3– The Buffalo Sabres are set to kick off their season this weekend and they will be doing it in Prague as part of the NHL Global Series. They will be taking on the New Jersey Devils and the team is holding special viewing parties on Friday and Saturday. Friday’s game will start at 1 pm while Saturday’s game is set for 10 am. Both events are free but you will need to RSVP a seat for Saturday’s viewing party at KeyBank Center.

4 – The warning period is over for drivers in Buffalo. This summer the Buffalo School District teamed up with a company called “Bus Patrol” to place cameras on 600 school buses that will be used to catch people illegally passing school buses. Warnings were sent out to over 1000 drivers in the month of September, but as of yesterday, no more warnings will be issued. Fines of $250 will now be issued to drivers who illegally pass a school bus. School officials are hoping the fines will help reduce the amount of people who illegally pass stopped school buses.

5- Halloween is coming up later this month and the Salvation Army is currently collecting new and gently used costumes for kids in need. Laurie Krajna the Development Director of the Salvation Army in Buffalo said there are over 40 kids in need this year. You can make your donation at the Salvation Army offices located at 960 Main Street in Buffalo.

6 – Tonight you can enjoy some amazing chili and help out The Rotary Club of the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. They are holding their 6th annual Chili Cookoff at Flying Bison Brewery. Terri Campbell with the Rotary Club said the money raised tonight will help them with several projects. You can also sample my “Christmas Eve” Chili as I will be one of the chili chefs participating in the cook-off. I would love to see you tonight. The event runs from 5-8 pm and tickets are $25.

7- This Saturday one of the coolest events in High School sports is taking place. The Frontier Boys soccer team will be celebrating their senior night with a special trick-or-treat event. The community is invited to come enjoy the game and trick or treat around the field during half-time. Head Coach Rich Kozak said the event is a great way for the community to support local high school athletes (audio) The event will kick off around 6:15 pm.
