The Buffalo Bills will start their mandatory mini-camp today, with their RB1. James Cook is set to be part of the group of players who are ready to practice this week.

The current Bills running back depth chart looks like this: James Cook, Ray Davis, Ty Johnson, Darrynton Evans, and Frank Gore Jr. Fullback Reggie Gilliam is also part of the running back crew but is not expected to get many carries.

Bills Running Back James Cook Wants New Contract1

The former 2nd round pick is looking for a new deal from the Buffalo Bills. He is in the last year of his current rookie deal, and rumors are that he is looking at a deal that is similar to what Saquon Barkley signed back in March, around $15 million a year guaranteed.

 

What Happens Next For James Cook and The Buffalo Bills?

While Cook and the Bills are opposite sides of a new deal, there are some things that can happen between now and the start of training camp in July.

Cook can report and play under his current deal.

He can hold out until a new deal is done or for the entire season.

The Bills can trade him.
