Warmer weather is here and more and more people will be out cruising along the roads in New York State.

My son Avry just bought his first motorcycle and as a parent, it scares me every time he takes the bike on the road. As a driver myself I have seen firsthand a number of distracted drivers on the roads in New York.
Of course, there is a big difference between a car hitting another car, and a car hitting someone on a motorcycle.

Here in New York State on average, there are 450 motorcycle injuries for every 100 million vehicle miles traveled in the estate. Most motorcycle accidents happen on city streets or in densely populated areas rather than on highways or rural roadways.

This is when there are a lot of people on the road and some people might be distracted. It has happened to all of us. After a tough day at work or school, you let your mind wander when you are driving home. The kids in the back seat are asking questions and distracting you, or if you talking on the phone or checking your texts.
All of these distractions can lead to a fatal accident, especially when a motorcycle is involved.
So please, if you are driving on the roads in New York, stay alert and make sure you are looking for motorcycles.
