As we get ready to thank all the men and women who served our great country on Tuesday, Veterans Day, some senior veterans across Western New York were honored with a special thank you.

Hundreds of senior veterans across Western New York were gifted a special "Hero Box" as a way to say thank you for their service.

Senior Veterans In Western New York Honored Ahead Of Veterans' Day

The local non-profit Senior Wishes spent the past several days dropping off Hero Boxes to senior veterans across Western New York. These boxes come with some special items like a hat from their branch of the military, a coffee mug, a flag blanket, and a special thank-you note for their service.

Members of the community were able to nominate a senior Veteran earlier this year, and over 180 Hero boxes were completed and will be delivered before Veterans' Day. Senior Wishes have been dropping off Hero Boxes for several years now and are already looking ahead to 2026. If you would like to sponsor these Hero Boxes next year, you can get more information HERE
