Buffalo Bills Name 6 Captains For 2026 Season

The Buffalo Bills tripled the number of captains they will have on the team this year compared to last season. Earlier this week, the Buffalo Bills announced that they will have six official captains for the season.

Over the past two years, the Buffalo Bills were outliers when it came to team captains. In 2024 and 2025, the Buffalo Bills had only two official captains. Josh Allen and Terrel Bernard. That has changed this season.

Under new head coach Joe Brady, the Bills announced that six players will wear the "C" on their jersey this season. There will be two Offensive captains, two defensive captains, and two special teams captains.

The 2026 Buffalo Bills captains are:

Josh Allen - 8th year as a captain
Dawson Knox - 1st year as a captain
Terrel Bernard - 3rd year as a captain
Bradley Chubb - 1st year as a captain
Reid Ferguson - 3rd year as a captain
Sam Franklin Jr. - 1st year as a captain

Week 1: 17-10 Loss to Texans - Week 1 defenses usually have a step on offenses, and Houston has one of the best defenses in the league. The Bills have had trouble with them in the past and will again to start the season.

Week 2: 28-14 Win Over Detroit - The Bills will be hype to open their new stadium on Thursday Night Football, and the team will bring all the energy to win in front of the home crowd.

Week 3: 35-17 Win Over the Chargers - It is always tough for West Coast teams to come East and win. The Bills will have extra time to prepare so I have the Bills winning this one.

Week 4: 42-21 Win Over the Patriots - The Bills lost to New England at home last year and ended up losing the AFC East because of it. They won't let that happen again this season.

Week 5: 35-17 Loss to Rams - In what I think could be a preview of the Super Bowl, the Rams' offense is too much for the Bills' defense and takes home a rare road win over Buffalo.

Week 6: 42-10 Win Over the Raiders - The Bills' defense looks sharp on the road and forces Kirk Cousins to the bench at halftime, and the #1 overall pick in the draft this past April, Fernando Mendoza, gets his first NFL action.

Week 7: BYE WEEK - The Bills head into the BYE week with a 4-2 record.

Week 8: 24-10 Win Over the Ravens - Lamar Jackson has found it tough to win in Buffalo, and his struggles continue in the New Highmark Stadium.

Week 9: 28-14 Loss to Vikings - The Bills' offense is a no-show on the road as they fall to the Vikings in Week 9.

Week 10: 35-10 Win Over the Jets - It is the Josh Allen show over the Jets as QB1 for the Bills scores all five touchdowns for the Bills (3 passing, 2 rushing) in the first meeting of these AFC East foes.

Week 11: 35-0 Win Over the Dolphins - The Bills squish the fish at home in their first meeting of the season.

Week 12: 42-35 Loss to Chiefs - The Bills fall in Overtime as Patrick Mahomes works his magic again on the Bills and escapes with a road win.

Week 13: 17-10 Win Over Patriots - The Bills pull ahead in the race for the AFC East in a cold, snowy win on the road over the Pats.

Week 14: 28-14 Loss to the Packers - The Packers' defense proves to be too much for the Bills' offensive line, and Josh Allen never gets settled in the loss on the road.

Week 15: 35-21 Loss to the Bears - The Bears come into Highmark Stadium firing on all cylinders and walk away with a late-season win.

Week 16: 28-17 Win Over the Broncos - The Bills get redemption from last season's playoff loss and beat Denver on the road.

Week 17: 35-10 Win Over the Dolphins - The Bills start off 2027 with a big win over Miami and clinch the AFC East in the first weekend of play of the new year.

Week 18: 28-7 Win Over the Jets - The Bills are still playing for playoff position and beat the Jets at home in the final regular-season game of the year.
