The Buffalo Bills are getting a new uniform this year—not a permanent one, but a specialty version from Nike as part of their NFL Rivalries series. It's the first season Nike has done this, with special uniforms for teams in the AFC East and NFC West divisions.

On how they will be inspired, Nike said,

The first cohort of Rivalries teams, from the AFC East and NFC West, will wear uniforms born from local community insights during select home games against division rivals.

That could be really exciting. After all, Buffalo has a deep American history, let alone several prominent places in pop culture. Buffalo is know for it's wings, beef on 'weck, and bewild tailgating but the city is also home to many well-earned nicknames.

4 Nicknames for Buffalo, New York

- "The Queen City," being the second largest city in New York State.

- "The City of Light," as it was the first city to have widespread electric street lights.

- "The Nickel City," named after the Buffalo Nickel coin, which was used in the early part of the 20th century.

- "The City of Good Neighbors" was given because, despite it actually being a pretty big place, Buffalo has also had a friendly, small-town feel. It's also a very charitable community and is there for each other through tough times.

Working any of these names into the Nike Rovalries Uniforms would be really cool, and this concept does exactly that.

Buffalo Bills Rivalry Uniform Concept

Now, this is just a concept by an artist. These are not endorsed by the NFL, Buffalo Bills, or Nike. It's just an artist coming up with an idea for how the uniforms COULD look. In them, he works in the nickname " Nickel City " with the words on the jersey and silver color throughout for the coin. It's a neat look.

The artist also worked the Zubaz pattern in the number, collar, and sleeves. The chromed-out helmet really stands out.

What do you think of this concept? I like the textured, shiny helmet a lot.  It's a neat idea and fits the Nickel City brand, though I would have sued the standing Buffalo Bills Logo because it makes it more like the original coin. I don't need the Zubaz pattern in it, though. At least, not in silver. I'd rather have the color pop. However, overall, I do like this. It's not the typical idea people come up with, and I'm always for unique looks.
