Buffalo Bills Bringing Back Surprise Player
Many thought he'd be leaving the Bills but it looks like he's coming back for at least one more year.
Damar Hamlin is coming back to the Buffalo Bills.
Aside from Josh Allen, he might be one of the most well-known Buffalo Bills. Unfortunately, most of his fame came from an unfortunate accident that happened to him on the field. When Damar Hamlin went into cardiac arrest after taking a hit directly to the chest, most of the world heard his name for weeks. The world rallied around him hoping that he would pull through.
Not only did he pull through, he came back better than ever. Surprisingly he committed to coming back and playing again for the Buffalo Bills. Last year he earned his starting position at safety. He was third on the team in total tackles (89) and tied for the team lead in interceptions (2).
He became a free agent at the end of the 2024-2025 season and could have gone anywhere. Today he agreed to stay with the Buffalo Bills for at least one more year.
That will leave the Bills with Damar Hamlin, Taylor Rapp, Cole Bishop, and Cam Lewis heading into training camp in the safety room.
These signings over the past 24 hours sure do make it look like the Bills will be leaning toward a corner with one of their early picks in the draft. Unless they've got a deal brewing with someone in the background that we don't know about, they're going to need someone to compliment Christian Benford in that defensive backfield.
