**Update - The Buffalo Bills signed 17 players to their practice squad**

It is now official: the Buffalo Bills have their 53-man roster ready to go for the upcoming season, but that doesn't mean they are done welcoming players to the team. This year, the Buffalo Bills have 17 openings on their practice squad and will be able to fill that roster later this afternoon.

NFL Practice Squad Rules

NFL teams are allowed to have 16 players on their practice squad, but can carry 17 players if they use one extra spot for the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program. NFL teams can start signing players to their practice squads at 1 pm today.

10 of the spots on the practice squad have to be used for players with two or fewer accrued seasons, while up to six slots can be filled by veterans of any experience level.

Possible Buffalo Bills Practice Squad Signing

There are some names that were released by the Buffalo Bills on Sunday that could still be in Western New York as part of the Buffalo Bills practice squad. Some of those players include:

QB Shane Buechele
ILB Jimmy Ciarlo
ILB Keonta Jenkins
CB Kani Walker
RB Ian Wheeler

Big Name Free Agents Who Could Be On Bills Practice Squad

The Buffalo Bills can use 6 of the 16 practice squad spots to sign players of an experience level, and we could see some "Big Names" signed to the Bills' practice.

One of those players could be Joey Bosa. The lineman played 15 games for Buffalo last year and remains unsigned. He could join the Bills' practice squad, work with the team, and maybe sign with the Bills or another NFL team.

Another "Big Name" free agent could be former 1st-round pick Evan Neal, who was released by the New York Giants. The Bills are thin at offensive line, and having Neal on the practice squad could be a form of a security blanket for the Bills.
