The former Buffalo Bills Safety goes to the rival Dolphins.

NFL Free Agency is here and the Buffalo Bills are looking to fill several holes in their lineup. This is especially true at Safety, where the Bills were once set for a long period of time. Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer created one of, if not the, best safety duos in all of the NFL for the Bills. However, those days are officially over.

Micah Hyde's future with the team is in doubt as he reportedly may retire. The team released Jordan Poyer before the start of Free Agency. Now, Poyer is signing with the arch-rival of the Buffalo Bills.

Jordan Poyer is Signing With The Miami Dolphins

This was not a surprise to many, as the Dolphins had shown interest in Poyer last year before he signed an extension with the Bills.

Poyer is 32 years old and at the end of his career. Poyer came to the Buffalo Bills in 2017 as a free agent from the Cleveland Brown. He signed 4 year, $13 million contract. While Bills fans will not like that he signed with the Dolphins, that's the way free agency goes.

Expect the Bills to continue looking at free agent Safeties as the market is deep this year. They could also draft one. Currently, at Safety they have Taylor Rapp, Damar Hamlin, Cam Lewis, and Kendall Williamson. Rapp has plenty of start experience. The rest are mostly depth players. However, the team did just re-sign Cam Lewis, and they are high on him. Lewis also plays corner.

Another player that could move to safety is cornerback Christian Benford. While he has been excellent at corner, the team has floated the idea of him playing safety in the past.
