Buffalo Wins Preseason Battle For Lake Erie Against Cleveland 31-7

While we all know that preseason 'doesn't matter', it sure does feel good to see your favorite team back on the field playing professional football.

That exact thing happened on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Huntington Bank Field in downtown Cleveland when the Buffalo Bills took a quick road trip down I-90 to Northeast Ohio for preseason game two of the 2026/27 season. Just a couple of days after the Bills and Browns held a joint practice and scrimmage in Cleveland, the two teams faced each other on the field.

What should have been a rather unassuming preseason game turned into some kind of spectacle thanks to a wild rainstorm that led to a more than one-hour weather delay. Thanks to a lightning storm, the teams were only on the field for just under two minutes of playing time before they had to go back to the locker rooms, while fans had to exit the main bowl of the stadium and take shelter in the concourses.

Once the storm passed and players were able to take the field again, the Bills didn't waste any time in taking control of the game.

Both backup quarterbacks Kyle Allen and Shane Buechele had good games behind center, with each of them throwing for more than 100 yards passing and each tossing a touchdown. Ja'Mori Maclin was on the receiving end of one of those scores, which he took 71 yards into the end zone.

It wasn't only the offense putting in work, as the defense also stepped up, including Damar Hamlin, who snagged an interception along with grabbing 5 tackles.

Overall, it was a good showing for the hometown team as they get ready for the regular season in a few weeks. While we know it's preseason, it's clear the team is looking good, and we hope they can stay healthy to make moves towards the Super Bowl.
