Erie county has announced the date of their last free rabies vaccine clinic of the fall for cats, dogs, and ferrets - and it’s this Saturday.

This clinic is eligible for dogs, cats, and ferrets at least three months of age, and you can bring three pets with you per appointment.

Why A Rabies Vaccine Is Important For Your Pets

According to the CDC, keeping your furball up-to-date on their rabies vaccinations is incredibly important to keep them from catching the disease from other wildlife and potentially infecting you and/or your family.

Free Rabies Clinic Details

Unlike the other free rabies clinics that Erie county has offered recently, this one is a walk-through clinic - so pet owners are asked to restrain their furry friends in a carrier or collar and short leash (retractable or extended leashes are not allowed).

They also request that you put your pet’s contact info on their carrier and leash, that you bring proof of your pet's vaccination to receive a three-year vaccination certificate (otherwise, they’ll give you a one-year certificate), and that you consider asking your veterinarian about having your pet microchipped.

Finally, they ask that you please wear a mask throughout this walk-thru clinic.

This last free rabies vaccine clinic for the fall will be held this Saturday, October 8th from 9 am to 1 pm at the Broadway Market on 999 Broadway Street.

The clinic is free, but registration in advance is required. You can do that here

If you have any other questions about getting your doggo, kitty, or ferret friend a rabies vaccine, you’re advised to have a chat with your vet.
