It might be easy to forget where the Buffalo Bills came from just six short years ago.

The Bills have made the playoffs in three straight seasons and four of the past five seasons, but before that Buffalo missed the postseason for 17 consecutive years.

As someone is is entering their 30's, I started watching the Bills at the start of that drought. The first season I ever remember watching every game was 2000 and I knew nothing but mediocre teams until the Bills drafted Josh Allen and the rest was history.

However, as I have said to people who don't live here, don't think Bills fans don't love those "drought teams."

We adore the likes of Ryan Fitzpatrick, Stevie Johnson, Fred Jackson, Eric Moulds, Kyle Williams, London Fletcher, Terrence McGee, Brian Moorman and Scott Chandler.

One former Bills player during the drought, who was the team's number one wide receiver for a number of seasons, is making his return to Buffalo this Sunday.

Lee Evans will be this week's Legend of the Game for the Bills home game against the Minnesota Vikings at Highmark Stadium.

Evans was drafted in the first round by the Bills in 2004.

Evans went on to lead the Bills in receptions and receiving yards from 2006-2008 and was a key second receiver behind Eric Moulds in 2004 and 2005. Evans ended his career with 381 receptions for over 6,000 yards and 43 touchdowns.

Evans was a deep threat who also had great hands. He was never the most physical type of receiver but he should have had more team success in his NFL career, although was able to have a playoff run with the Baltimore Ravens in 2011 -- his last season in the NFL.

We haven't seen Evans much in Western New York since his retirement in 2012 but it's awesome that he is back in Orchard Park this Sunday.
