Is New York Going To Lose Important Landmark?
Over the last two months or so, all of America has been thrown for a bit of a loop.
Since Donald Trump became the 47th President of the United States, we've seen all sorts of changes in the nation and worldwide. Those changes are impacting how Americans see America, how different states relate to each other, and how the US interacts with its neighbors in North America and with other nations around the world. For example, you just need to look at the financial changes we see with the different tariffs that have been enacted with Canada, Mexico, and China.
However, one potential relationship change may literally change the way people in the Empire State look at New York, from our license plates to one of the largest natural harbors in the northeast.

Give us back the Statue of Liberty
-Raphaël Glucksmann, MEP-Member of the European Parliament
Lady Liberty, whose official name in French is La Liberté éclairant le monde (Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World), is a 151-foot, 1-inch-tall copper statue that was gifted to the United States by the people of France in the late 1870s. The statue, designed by sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi and built by Gustave Eiffel, was dedicated in New York Harbor on October 28, 1886.
The statue was thought of in 1865 by Édouard de Laboulaye, a French abolitionist who thought it would be good to celebrate the United States' 100th birthday that was coming up in 1776 and honor the fact that it freed its slaves. Since its dedication nearly 150 years ago, the statue has stood in New York's harbor as a symbol of freedom and liberation for New Yorkers and Americans.
However, since America's political turn, there have been those around the world who feel that America no longer represents these things. In response to these calls, the Trump Administration has had a pretty unique response.
What do you think? Does France have the right to ask for the statue back? Should The United States and New York return it?
