ALERT: This Outdoor Law In Place For New York State
The fall starts this week and Western New York State may be the best place to be when autumn arrives and the leaves start to change colors!
But the fall also brings the big game hunting seasons to New York State thousands of people are ready to head to the woods and seek out some of most elusive wild game in North America! The whitetail deer and bear hunting is pretty decent here in The Empire State.
But there are many rules and laws pertaining to hunting in New York State and one of them may be a surprise to you.

The early deer and bear seasons are underway here in New York State. The archery and regular firearms seasons will start in just a matter of weeks! When you get to your favorite hunting spot, be aware of the surroundings.
Here in New York State, according to the New York State DEC, "It is illegal to harvest deer or bear while the animal is in water".
If you have set up your stand or hunting blind near a creek, pond, stream or other body of water, make sure that the animal you are about to shoot is NOT in the water.
Good luck this season! Make sure you have the proper hunting documents and know the laws for the season, and the animals you are hunting for. There are specific laws that are for those who plan to hunt on a new or unfamiliar piece of land this fall.
