Buffalo Bandits: Chase Fraser Continues the Fight
The Buffalo Bandits and Chase Fraser have agreed to a one-year deal, pending league approval, the team announced on Monday.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pound forward was originally selected by Buffalo in the 2017 NLL Entry Draft at 13th overall. He’s a two-time NLL Cup Champion with the Bandits (2023, 2024) and scored five goals in the 2024 NLL title game.
Fraser also made it to the NLL Cup Finals with Buffalo in 2019 and 2022.
In 72 career games, all with the Bandits, “the walking highlight reel” accumulated 125 goals and 84 assists (209 points) along with 287 loose-ball recoveries.
The Vancouver, British Columbia native has 43 points and 73 loose-ball recoveries in 21 playoff games.
He set a career high of 57 points last season and finished with 31 goals. His career high is 32 goals in one season. During the 2023-24 season, he ranked third on his team in goals and fourth in points.
Fraser finished third among all NLL postseason players with 11 tallies.
His best season in Buffalo (so far) was in 2022, when he managed 32 goals and 24 assists (56 points) along with 62 loose-ball recoveries in 18 matches. He played in six playoff games that year, totaling nine points (5+4) and 18 loose-ball recoveries.
Before the Bandits, he played his senior year of college ball at Neumann University and also played with the Nanaimo Timbermen. In 2021, he was a Premier League Lacrosse Champion with the Carolina Chaos.
With the Timbermen, who drafted him third overall in 2017 into the Western Lacrosse Association, Fraser was named the WLA Rookie of the Year for his 52 points. In 34 regular season games with the Timbermen, he totaled 64 goals and 36 assists.
He played in 14 games at Neumann University and got his name on some “all-time” lists for his single-season performance. Fraser’s 79 points are the fifth-most in a single season, and his 66 goals are ranked third. His 115 ground balls are the most in a single season in Neumann’s history.
