There has been a lot of debate between meteorologists lately about whether Western New York will be hit with a Thanksgiving snowstorm.

Some of the weather models show that the 716 should expect several feet of snow thanks to a snowbomb that's headed to the Empire State, while other models show that we should be free and clear.

In preparation for the possibility of our first major winter story, many officials around the area are sounding the alarm to make sure you don't let winter take you by surprise.

If there is anything we learned from the last winter season, it's quite possible that we can be stuck in the house for a few days and that it's up to us to be prepared and to have a plan if the weather gets really bad.

There are several steps that you can take right now to make sure you're ready to ride out the weather. To make sure you don't get caught unprepared, there are several things that you should consider doing now to make sure that you can survive for the next several days should you lose the ability to travel and get out to stores.

Of course, if you're anything like me, then you're just now starting to get ready for the snow, it's not too late, but you have to act fast. So before you run out to the local grocery store and clear the shelves of all the bottled water and toilet paper, let's take a few minutes to make a plan.

But don't take too long because time is running out before we have a few feet of snow on the ground.
