You don't have to look far to see how much the world we live in today has changed from what we might remember when we were kids and in school. However, it is only now that I realize exactly how different things are from how they used to be.

It was just a few years ago when the recreational use of marijuana and other cannabis-related products became legal in the Empire State. Since then, we've seen an explosion of vendors and other locations where you can get CBD, vapes, edibles, and other THC-infused products. It seems like everywhere you turn, you see all sorts of products that you couldn't even imagine 10 years ago.

However, one place you can almost be sure you won't see these products at is at your local schoolhouse. That is, until the other day when some kids got their hands on some THC edibles from an unlikely source.

Teachers are just regular people like you and me, except they have a pretty hard job: dealing with our bad kids every day. Given that, it's no surprise that an educator might need to grab a vape or edible to relieve the kids' stress. However, it's probably in everyone's best interest to make sure the weed cookies and other snacks stay at home.

Well, it seems that one Buffalo area teacher didn't get that memo, according to WIVB-TV

According to a report from News Channel 4, a teacher at Public School 79, Pfc. William J. Grabiarz School of Excellence, on Lawn Avenue in Buffalo, forgot that they had some THC-infused gummies and accidentally gave them to two kids in the school. It appears that the gummies, which had 500 milligrams of THC, were in a package that looked like regular candy, and the teacher found them in the building.

The teacher has been placed on administrative leave while city officials investigate what exactly happened and who brought the drugs into the building.

I have to say that today's teachers are way cooler than mine back in the 1980s.
