A red hot, ‘around the world’ tour was announced today – the Red Hot Chili Peppers (RHCP) and The Strokes will be performing at JMA Dome in Syracuse, NY on April 14, as the fifth stop on their global tour. King Princess will also be opening for the rock mega groups.

RHCP will be promoting their dual-release albums from 2022, “Unlimited Love” and “Return of the Dream Canteen,” which both immediately shot up to the number one spots on the “Billboard 200 Albums Chart.” This is also their band reincarnated with guitarist John Frusciante back at the helm, who parted ways with the band in 2009, and rejoined in 2019. Joining as a band in 1983, even 40 years later, RHCP is still putting out albums that garner the attention of the fans. “Return of the Dream Canteen” yielded the foursome - Frusciante, Anthony Kiedis, Flea and Chad Smith - top spots in categories including top rock and alternative albums.

By the way, since The Strokes are the direct support band for this concert, to celebrate them as part of the tour, fans can get excited ahead of time and check out “Meet Me in the Bathroom” at North Park Theatre this week. This documentary highlights the resurgence of independent bands in the New York City music scene during the late ‘90s and early 2000s, experiencing the rebirth in the wake of the unknown that was the new millennium and the musical saviors that helped society cope after the 9/11 attacks. The documentary features The Strokes’ rise to fame in the indie rock sphere, and shows their relationship with bands The Moldy Peaches and Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
