Downtown Buffalo To Host Oktoberfest Market

The last few months have seen city officials and private business owners working in tandem to try to bring fun and exciting events and activities to downtown Buffalo. While some areas of the central business district definitely need a boost of support, there are other sections that are doing fairly well.

With downtown Buffalo on the verge of seeing an influx of people with the Buffalo Sabres 2026/27 season getting ready to start, officials in Buffalo City Hall are reading another set of events to give you something to do downtown.

It looks like Buffalo Mayor Sean Ryan and Buffalo's Fillmore District Council Member Mitch Nowakowski are teaming up to bring an Oktoberfest Market to downtown Buffalo.

Downtown activation is about giving people a reason to come downtown and experience everything our city has to offer all year. The Buffalo Oktoberfest is a great example of how we can bring new life to our public spaces while creating opportunities for local businesses and building momentum around a more vibrant downtown. I'm grateful to the event organizers and participants for their efforts in creating this event.

The free Oktoberfest market is set to run on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays in the month of October on East Mohawk Street. The market will occupy the entire block between Ellicott Street and Washington Street downtown and should give folks plenty to do when it's open.

There are going to be more than 60 vendors that will rotate throughout the month, in addition to a beer garden, live music, and more.
