As we roll through spring into the warmer weather seasons, the time of year where we will spend a lot of time going to the best concerts, events, festivals, and shows around town is on the way. In Buffalo and Western New York, we suffer through what often seems like endless winter for us to be able to enjoy some pretty good weather coupled with great events.

So far this spring we've had quite a few good events happen already that has brought thousands of people outside already. Not only have the cherry blossoms bloomed in Delaware Park, the Bisons are on the field, and the Bills have already started preparing for the 2025 season. By all accounts, things in 2025 is going to be just as good as 2024 was.

However, if you are fan of art and all the great festivals that go on in the 716, you're going to have one less event to put on your to do list now after a recent announcement in Buffalo.

Popular Art Festival Saying Goodbye In Buffalo, New York

Buffalo is well known all around the world for the quality of its architecture and art. Unfortunately, according to the Elmwood Village Association, the popular Elmwood ArtFest is no more. The fun and exciting art festival that took over the sidewalks on Elmwood Avenue near Bidwell has shutting down this year.

...the festival grew beyond our expectations, which is a testament to the enthusiasm and talent in our community. While this growth presented new logistical challenges, we’re incredibly proud of what we accomplished and grateful for the support of everyone who participated.
-James Cichocki, Executive Director of the Elmwood Village Association

Organizers are currently planning another event on a smaller scale that should help fill the gap, but folks all over Buffalo now have one less thing to do this summer.

Cherry Blossoms Bloom In Buffalo's Delaware Park

Hundreds of Western New Yorkers descend on the Japanese Gardens in Buffalo's Delaware Park to observe dozens of Cherry Blossom trees as they bloom for spring. Nature seekers were in Buffalo's premier public park after the City's famous Cherry Blossom Festival, yet another sign that spring has finally arrived in the Empire State after a long winter.
