Now that spring has sprung in Buffalo and Western New York, people all over the 716 and 585 are discovering something that most people have never had to deal with: potholes. While we usually have to deal with pothole season, this year seems particularly bad on the pothole front.

You only need to look at your social media feed to see people complaining about the conditions all over the region. While a lot of people would initially think this is a city problem, it is happening in all different neighborhoods, rural, urban, and everything in between.

However, no matter how bad the potholes are in your part of town, we can all but guarantee they aren't as bad as this one ditch in the Southtowns that has a love for swallowing cars.

Western New York Potholes Are Bad, But This Ditch Is Worse

Right along Route 5, there is a plaza that tons of people frequent. In that plaza, there are several stores that people in WNY love, and then there is this one drainage/water runoff ditch that, for some reason, cars continue to drive into.

It's gotten so famous that it has its own Facebook page, and it's ready to snatch more cars up this spring.

The Derby Ditch, as it's become affectionately known, has a long history of cars driving into it when people mistake it for the driveway to return to Route 5.

Even with tons of signs and barriers, cars still find their way into the Derby Ditch.
