Gas Prices Are Expected To Increase In New York
It has been a good run, over the past couple of months we have seen the average cost of a gallon of gasoline drop every week but that could soon change.
Gas prices are expected to remain flat or even increase as several oil companies have shut down their off-shore drilling rids due to Hurricane Ian.
Currently, at the time of this writing, Hurricane Ian was a category three hurricane with the chance to strengthen to a category four.
If the supply is low, the price gets high. If it takes longer and more money to transport the gas, the price gets higher.
Hopefully, Hurricane Ian will move quickly through the Gulf Of Mexico and the oil rigs will be able to reopen sooner than later and we might not even see an increase.
But, just know that an increase could be coming around the corner for gas prices here in New York State.
According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas in New York is $3.66 while the national average for a gallon of regular unleaded gas is $3.74.
The good news is that we should see the price reach the $4 mark again if the storm moves past the oil rigs quickly.
