If there is one thing for sure, we know for a fact that Western New York loves its food. From beef-on-weck to pizza and wings, Buffalo is a food city with a drinking, football, lacrosse, and bad hockey problem, and we love this for us.
However, regardless of how much we love food, the economic condition in many sectors of our region has forced several restaurants to close over the last few months.

Historic Pizza Place Closing Its Doors In Western New York
If you have worked downtown over the last few decades, you know the history of how the Main Place Mall served hungry people looking to grab lunch or dinner in Buffalo. Gino & Joe's Famous NY Pizza has been a downtown Buffalo staple since the 1980s. It has served amazing slices, calzones, and other Italian classics to thousands of Western New Yorkers as they traversed downtown Buffalo. Now, in a Facebook post, the restaurant has announced that its pizza ovens have baked the last slice inside the Main Place Mall.
While the historic pizzeria will no longer serve people from the Main Place Mall, it won't be gone for long. According to Buffalo Business First, it will relocate to a new storefront a bit north on Main Street in a few months.
By summer,, the new and improved Gino & Joe's will reopen inside the Brisbane Building, which is on the corner of Main Street and Lafayette Square.
