Injury After Injury for the Buffalo Bills
After backup quarterbacks Shane Buechele and Mitch Trubisky suffered sidelining injuries in back-to-back preseason games, the Bills needed to find a third QB—again.
Trubisky left the game against the Steelers in the second quarter with a knee injury, while Buechele sustained a season-ending neck injury against the Bears.
Queue Anthony Brown.
Brown played football collegiately at Boston College and Oregon before spending 2022–23 with the Ravens and the 2024 offseason with the Raiders.
He appeared in two games with the Ravens in 2022 with one start and was 22-of-49 with 302 yards. In his NFL debut against the Pittsburgh Steelers, he was 3-of-5 with 16 yards.
Brown joins Ben DiNucci as relief in the quarterback room, although I am not convinced that the Bills would be okay without Allen as the gunslinger.
In a corresponding move, wide receiver Lawrence Keys III has been waived/injured.
