The highlight of the NFL Season was on full display on Sunday, February 11, 2024, as the Kansas City Chiefs faced the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII. The 58th NFL championship game featured two teams familiar with success and the playoffs.

The 49ers, in the NFL since 1949, have been to 8 Super Bowls in their history (1981, 1984, 1988, 1989, 1994, 2012, 2019, and 2023), winning 5 of them (1981, 1984, 1988, 1989, 1994). The Chiefs, which have been in the NFL since 1959, have been to the Super Bowl 6 times (1967, 1970, 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023, winning 4 of those match-ups (1969, 2019, 2022, 2023).

Both teams have had pretty good success when it comes to Football, and it appears that the Chiefs are on the edge of a new dynasty in the NFL.

We Could've Had A Entirely Different Super Bowl This Year

Had a few things gone differently during the playoffs, we could have seen a different Super Bowl LVIII.

For the first time ever, the three NFL teams that share Lake Erie, the Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns, and Detroit Lions, all made the playoffs simultaneously.

If these teams had made it farther in the playoffs, we could've seen a Buffalo Bills vs. Detroit Lions Super Bowl (who really cares about Cleveland anyway). This would've been a game for the ages, too.

But, perhaps the teams didn't make it to the big game due to another issue.

Are The Lake Erie Teams Cursed?

While I don't personally think this is the case, the three teams' luck hasn't been that great, and what other explanation can there be?

While Lake Erie services around twelve million Americans within its watershed, the three teams have a collective Super Bowl record of 0 wins and four losses. All of those belong to the Bills, who have been to 4 Super Bowls, losing all of them. While the Lions and Browns have never made it to a Super Bowl.

However these teams have performed in the past, I, for one, think the tide has turned in their favor.

The Bills are here to stay and will be a contender in the AFC, while the Lions have the potential to be a force in the NFC (why mention the Browns, since no one really cares about Cleveland anyway).

We'll have to see if things turn around for the Lake Erie teams.

Here's The Playoff Record of Each Lake Erie NFL Team

The 2023 NFL Regular Season is officially over, and it has ended with something happening that has never happened before all three NFL Teams that share Lake Erie, the Bills, Browns, and Lions, are all in the playoffs at the same time.

20 Buffalo Bills Who Are Free Agents This Off-Season

The off-season between the 2023/24 and 2024/25 off-season is set to be a doozy as the Bills have several players that become free agents this year and some serious decisions to make.
