Buffalo Born NBA Baller Moving A Little Closer To Western New York
Pro basketball fans in Buffalo and Western New York have to get their roundball fix from other cities all over North America. While Buffalo does have several good college basketball teams that fans can get their fill from, not having an NBA team means that fans have to look elsewhere for some hoops.
That goes double for men and women from the 716 who pursue basketball careers. Those players are guaranteed to move away from the area to make it on a team since Buffalo's basketball team decided to move away to Los Angeles.
Fortunately, there are a few NBA teams within a couple of hours' drive, and thanks to a recent trade, one Buffalo native who's playing in the NBA will be a little closer to home.
Buffalo Born Jordan Nwora Has Been Traded To Toronto
From football and basketball to hockey and baseball, Buffalo and Western New York have produced some pretty good athletes over the years in just about every sport that's being played.
You can see that quite clearly every time Buffalo's Jordan Nwora takes the court in the NBA.
Drafted in the 2nd round of the 2020 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks, Nwora is a Buffalo-born NBA Champion who played high school ball for Park School and went to Louisville for college before he went to the NBA.
In his 4 NBA seasons, he played for Milwaukee and Indiana before being traded to the Toronto Raptors this week. Standing at 6-foot-8, the small forward has averaged just over 5 points per game coming off the bench for Indiana.
Nwora has been a solid shooter off the bench for Indiana and is expected to make an impact for the Raptors almost immediately.
One of the best things for Nwora, besides this new beginning with a new team, is that he's only 2 hours away from home, and that should definitely make him happy.
