EXTRA: THESE ARE THE SNOWIEST DAYS IN NEW YORK HISTORY

The snow will start out on Friday afternoon and will continue into the weekend, and some spots in New York could get almost a foot of snow by the end of the weekend.

Starting in Western New York, it looks like most of the snow will stay in the Northern part of the region. A winter weather advisory has been issued for all of Western New York starting at 5 pm tonight and lasting until 8 am on Saturday.

The snow will move in on Friday afternoon and continue through Saturday night. It should clear out by Sunday morning.

In Northern New York, there is a Winter Storm Watch issued for northern Washington County along with Northern Herkimer, Hamilton, and Northern Warren counties.

Down near New York City, there will be plenty of rain and a flood warning has been issued for some areas near Long Island.

Just know that this weekend will not be ideal for outdoor fun.
