Yes, the Bills won 26-7. Yes, if the regular season were to end today, they'd be in the playoffs (and the Chiefs would not be). The world isn't crumbling, and it's good to be a Bills fan on victory Monday.

But let's not shy away from the things that seem obvious.

A quick note: this is a pessimistic view of yesterday. That doesn't mean it's the end-all be-all. Of course it isn't. I could be wrong. I'm just sharing what I, and others, remain concerned with despite the win. Take this with a grain of salt, and if you are optimistic after yesterday, then keep on keepin' on.

The Bills' Offense is Too Predictable

Tony Romo kept pointing out that the Bills were running the same play over and over again. If you have eyes and can see, then you saw that, too. It's obvious they didn't do much to mix up the play calling, again. Did it matter? No. Pittsburgh ultimately got buried by those same couple of running plays. So who cares? They won and did well despite the lack of diversity.

OK, last week we all complained about the lack of diversity in the play-calling. We've been complaining about it all year, Bills Mafia. Remember that? Do we honestly all believe that this methodology will work against the Bengals? OK, maybe... their defense is really bad, but let's not forget Joe Burrow is back.

Here's the thing: it's not going to work against New England or other teams with a competent coach, not one that should have been fired years ago, like Mike Tomlin. Respectfully. Great coach, but you only get one Super Bowl with Ben Rothlesberger? I Digress...

Is Joe Brady Up To The Task?

To give him credit, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, and they were down their two starting offensive tackles. The problem is he also didn't seem to invent anything new for this game, or scheme more receivers open for mid-range throws. I know the wind made things tough, but you have Josh Allen. There are always *some* plays, but they were very few and far between. My fellow Bills Mafia friends and I could not help but ask, "What if the Bills don't get a strip sack for a touchdown, swining momentum? What if Pittsburgh did adjust at halftime and shut down the run? Would the Bills have won this game?"

Maybe, but maybe not. Like anything else, it's shoulda', coulda', woulda'. I just think that if you're confident in the Bills' offensive play calling after this game, you're a little misguided. Running the same play over and over again might have worked this week, but it didn't work well over the last few weeks. They constantly run the same play on first down regardless of the opponent, and they desperately need to scheme more receivers open downfield. That is, if they can. Maybe the receivers are that bad, and judging by the Bills' moves to the position, it seems that way. But it's still up to the offense coordinator to figure that out, and many are not convinced he has.

Is Brady up to the task? Can he build a better offensive game plan against good teams? He did it against Kansas City, but they are 6-6 and maybe not very good. It will be interesting to see how this goes the rest of the way. I may be pessimistic, but that doesn't mean I'm not rooting for him and the Bills. I WANT TO BE WRONG and eat these words later, and desperately hope I do.
