A lake effect snow watch has been issued for portions of Western New York.

The alert was sent early on Tuesday and there are some reports that call for more than 7 inches of heavy lake effect snow in the alerted areas.

The NWS alert indicated that portions of Wyoming, Cattaraugus and Southern Erie Counties can expect snow with winds more than 30 miles per hour. Be ready from Friday through Monday for poor visibility and treacherous conditions on the roads.
