Western New York has been pretty busy on the star front over the last few months. Not only have we had all sorts of great concerts and shows lately that have brought some of the biggest entertainers to town, but we've also had famous folks wandering around the region.
Some of those stars are from Western New York, so it was just a trip home, and others are here for different events and other activities.
That's exactly what happened this week when an Emmy Award-winning actor and television host was roaming around Akron, commenting on how it seems that winter never ends in the Buffalo region. Even though it's March, you might think it was Christmas time in certain parts of the 716 as the Hallmark Channel is filming a new movie in the Buffalo Area.

Newport Christmas is a new movie produced by Synthetic Cinema and is filming in several locations all over the Buffalo area. The movie's lead actor shared a funny video on his social media about how much he's enjoying his time in Buffalo.
Mario Lopez, the star of Newport Christmas, is a well-known actor and TV host who has been part of our lives for decades. With acting credits in several movies, Broadway Shows, and Television shows, Lopez is best known for his work with Saved by the Bell, Extra, and Access Hollywood, earning Emmys in 2014 and 2016.
Getting his start in acting in 1984, Lopez appeared in several shows and movies, including the Golden Girls and Colors, before landing his staring role in the teen sitcom Saved by the Bell with Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Elizabeth Berkley, Dennis Haskins, and Tiffani Thiessen.
Lopez will be in town for a few weeks as filming for Newport Christmas continues in Akron, Tonawanda, Youngstown, Buffalo, and other neighborhoods in Western New York.
