Western New York Get Ready For Smokey Robinson

One of the things that is great about living in the 716, 585, 289, and 905, is that we have no shortage of great entertainment venues. From Scotiabank Arena, the Rogers Center, and Massey Hall in Toronto to the KeyBank Center, Highmark Stadium, and Electric City in Buffalo, and all sorts of venues in between, we have tons of great places to catch a show.

If you take a look at our our 2025 Concert Calendar, you can see that there is no shortage of good events to keep us busy this year and now there is another show to add to this list. This time around, we have a chance to see one of the greatest singers in a generation and he's coming right here to Western New York.

Rock-n-Roll Hall of Famer Smokey Robinson Is Heading To The Chautauqua Institution

The GRAMMY Living Legend Smokey Robinson is coming to the 716 and is going to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Quiet Storm right here in Western New York as he hits the road on his Legacy Tour.

William Robinson, Jr., who is better known to us by his stage name Smokey Robinson, got his start in music in 1955 as a member of the Five Chimes and The Miracles. Considered by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the top 25 greatest singers of all time, Robinson has had a historic musical career with Motown that has spanned 70 years. He's released more than 40 albums and earned several awards from The GRAMMYs, NAACP Image Awards, Soul Train Awards, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. If this wasn't enough, Robinson has also been inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters’ Hall of Fame.

Robinson is set to perform live on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the Chautauqua Institution Amphitheater, and R&B fans are in for a treat.

There were some people who were worried about the the 2025 concert season after the amazing year we had in 2024, but after looking at all the great concerts that are on the our 2025 Concert Calendar, which has a complete list of concerts, events, and shows hitting the region, it looks like this is going to turn out to be a pretty good year for entertainment.
