BPO launches summer concert season -- tickets available now.

With the beautiful weather we’ve had in Buffalo this week, complete with perfect sunsets and gentle breezes as day turns into night, it’s time to think about even more summer concerts outside.

The Buffalo Philharmonic has released its summer concert series of 2024, “with music ranging from classical masterworks and movie scores to the rock hits of Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin.”

The season kicks off in traditional form, with the KeyBank Independence Eve concerts at the Bisons game on Wednesday, July 3. The game starts at 6 p.m., followed by patriotic songs and a fantastic fireworks display at 9 p.m. It’s a great way to kick off the holiday weekend!

Next up will be the Ellicottville Summer Music Festival on Sunday, July 7, with the BPO diving into the music of both The Who and Led Zeppelin for what’s bound to be an energetic audience.

On Thursday, July 11, the BPO’s String Ensemble will play a free show at the Central Terminal, starting at 6 p.m., followed by a trip up to Artpark for Puccini’s Greatest: An Opera Concert inside the Mainstage Theater.

The BPO will then head over to Clarence Main Street Town Park for a free show on Wednesday, July 17 before traveling across the Skyway to Terminal B at the Outer Harbor for the first of two free shows there, this time featuring the Musical Magic of Harry Potter on Friday, July 19.

The following day, July 20, join the Concert for Unity at the First Calvary Missionary Baptist Church starting at 7 p.m.

On Wednesday, July 24, the BPO will perform a free concert at North Park Community School #50, formerly known as North Park Academy, starting at 7 p.m., before going up to Academy Park in Lewiston on Saturday, July 27 at 7 p.m. for another free show.
The season starts to wind down but does not skimp on the fun, with a free show at Niawanda Park in Tonawanda on Sunday, July 28 starting at 7 p.m., before returning to Terminal B at the Outer Harbor for Strictly Hip, performing the music of the Tragically Hip, for the second free show there on Thursday, August 1 at 7:30 p.m.

The final summer show of the year takes place at Artpark on Saturday, August 3, as the BPO performs the Music of Pink Floyd with the Machine at the Mainstage Theater.
We are so fortunate to live in a place that embraces the nice weather in as many musical ways as possible!
