New Super Walmart For The Southtowns?

The Buffalo Bills are getting ready to start the construction on their new stadium in Orchard Park across from Highmark Stadium. The plans are being finalized but Bills fans will soon have a new place to call home for the Bills Mafia.

Before the Bills big win over the Baltimore Ravens this past weekend, the rumor mill was churning over the news that a new Super Walmart MAY BE coming to the Southtowns. The location seems to be near the "auto mall" off of Southwestern Boulevard near Milestrip in the Orchard Park area.

The OTHER RUMOR is that the former Orchard Fresh location/plaza in Orchard Park may be demolished and a new water park may be built in that location.

As one of the post on the Next Door APP says, it would not surprise me that there will be lots of rumors and also lots of planning for bigger and more attractive businesses around the new stadium in Orchard Park. We have been told that the new stadium will be a multi-purpose venue that will attract more concerts, games and conventions than Highmark Stadium could handle.

As for Walmart? You might recall that there was a Walmart in that area not too long ago. The building still houses a few different businesses at the corner of Route 20A and McKinley Parkway in the Orchard Park/Hamburg area. Walmart was moved to it's current location off Route 20 near Rogers Road a few years ago. There are also Walmart locations in Lancaster/Depew and Springville.
