Bills Fans Disappointed that Tre’Davious White Won’t Play Sunday
The Buffalo Bills are looking to improve to 6-1 this Sunday, as they host the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football at Highmark Stadium.
The Bills enter this game with Green Bay as 11-point favorites and with the struggles that the Packers have had on offense, the Bills number one NFL defense should have their way with the Green Bay offense.
The Bills defense has played as well as they have this season without Micah Hyde after week 2, missing Jordan Poyer and Ed Oliver for multiple games, and without Tre'Davious White for the first seven weeks.
White came back to practice two weeks ago and there was a thought he would return to play in this game against the Packers. Unfortunately, that will not be the case.
Bills head coach Sean McDermott said during his meeting with the media that White will not play against the Packers this Sunday.
The Bills will have until early next week to activate White to the 53-man roster. They will either have to activate him or place him on season-ending injured reserve.
Technically, the Bills can find a loophole and activate White and then place him on the non-season-ending IR, but I doubt that happens. They can also activate him and make him a healthy scratch, which could still happen this week. Just because White is activated, doesn't mean he has to be active on game days.
It's clear the Bills are taking things slow and steady in his return. They have played so well, that there really is no rush to get White back on the field.
Hopefully, White returns in week 9 against the New York Jets.
