The Wizard Of Oz Is Being Shown On The Big Screen In Buffalo
The Wizard of Oz is celebrating its 85th anniversary. So, movie theaters across the country are showing The Wizard of Oz on the big screen.
It's crazy to think that this movie is that old. It debuted in 1939.
When you think about it, the plot behind the movie was out there. A girl's house gets lifted by a tornado and falls on a witch in a land called Oz. The land is occupied by a bunch of "Munchkins" and it has a long yellow-brick road that runs all the way through and leads to a wizard who can grant wishes. Along the way, she meets three friends who really shouldn't even be able to speak. Not only do they speak, but they travel with her as she tries to meet a wizard who can get her back home to Kansas. It was pretty trippy.
You've probably seen it multiple times in your life, but how many times can you say you've seen it on the big screen with real movie theater sound, and real movie theater popcorn?
For two more days, you can. Fathom Events is planning to show it at over 800 theaters across the country to celebrate what would have been the film's 85th anniversary.
