The 19-year-old is facing some serious charges after a meet-up turned violent.

Break-ups can unfortunately be messy sometimes. Whether you get ghosted by someone you were dating or are the victim of their revenge for the breakup, it's never an easy situation. However, it's not usually a life-threatening situation, either.  That's where we begin this story.

According to the Erie County District Attorney's Office, 19-year-old Jakyia Williams of Buffalo was arrested Tuesday morning and charged with Attempted Murder, as well as other things. The story of why (allegedly) is interesting.

The 21-year-old victim is reportedly her ex-boyfriend. The 2 had set up a meeting in the parking lot of this Burger King on Thruway Plaza to exchange money. Williams apparently had slashed the tires of his car, and he was collecting money for the damage. When she handed him the money through the car window, she reportedly stabbed him in the chest.

The victim is going to be OK as he was treated at the hospital. Williams is facing up to 25 years in prison.

I think there are a couple of important takeaways to make here aside from the obvious.

1. If your ex slashes your tires, the might slash your chest. Best to just move on with your life and take the loss. It's ultimately just money and while that stinks, having your life threatened is worse.

2. No one is ever worth spending 25 years in jail for, even if they did you wrong. Let them go. Revenge is a short-term and temporary relief that never pays off.

I hope the victim is doing well and I hope Ms. Williams gets the help she needs, too.
