US News and World Report recently released their latest rankings of the best cities to live in for 2022-2023.
On the positive side, there were four cities in New York State that landed in the Top 50 on the list. Albany, Rochester, Syracuse, and Buffalo were all rated within the Top 50 but one major cities in New York didn't make it high on the list.
The worst city in New York State to live in based on the latest rankings from US News and World Report is also the largest city in New York State.
New York City was rated as the 120th best place to live in the United States out of 150 cities. That is 72 places below Buffalo, the next closest city in New York State on the list.
The Big Apple was below marks for net migration and value. The best mark New York City got was for Quality of life.
Overall New York City was rated 5.9 out of 10 which is well below the other cities in New York State.
Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse were all rated 6.4 out of 10 on the study.
Albany received a rating of 6.7 out of 10.
Besides being ranked as the 120th best place to live in the country, New York City was also ranked as one of the most expensive cities to live in. Overall New York City was rated as the 9th most expensive city in the United States to live in.
It is not all bad news for the largest city in New York State. New York City was named as the 14th best place to retire in the country.
